My Fear of Death vs My Fear of Failing

What do I fear the most? If you asked that to other people, some would say they fearing losing their loved ones, some fear losing material things, some even fear dying. But if you asked me what do I fear the most (apart from God), my answer would be failure.

Is it weird that I fear failure more than death itself? This is something some people don’t understand about me, that death isn’t a big fear to me. From young I’ve always wanted to do things and I haven’t really had much support with it but with whatever I do, I want to be successful with it. If I die, I want to die successful. That is why I want to work hard, not just for me, but for my future and the future being my wife and kids. They’re more important than me and I want them to be happy and enjoy things because I’ve worked hard for them. Everyone will die at one point but not everyone will achieve and accomplish what they want to do. Not everybody has reached success. Success is not promised to everyone, but death is. Even if I were to die, I would fear going to hell and if I go there then I’ve failed. If I manage to get into heaven, then I guess I can truly feel successful as I lived good on Earth.
