Lindsey Paul’s Open Letter to Daughter, Bobbi K

We’ve all been shocked and saddened by the death of the late great singer, Whitney Houston, who was found dead at the Beverly Hotel this passed weekend and it has affected not only her fans, but unsurprisingly her family also. We’ve been hearing that her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, has been extremely depressed over the loss of her mother and it was only announced recently that her father, R&B singer Bobby Brown, is unwanted at Whitney Houston’s funeral due to their history.

Global Grind writer, Lindsey Paul, went on to release an open letter to the daughter of Whitney Houson:

“Dear Bobbi Kristina,

I can’t begin to understand what you’re going through right now. Your emotions must be more overwhelming than anyone can even fathom.

While most of what everyone is seeing in the news is regarding your mother, we still see your struggle as well.

My heart dropped when I saw the news of your iconic mother’s passing, but it sank more when I heard you were in and out of the hospital as well.

Like millions of others, I consider your mother to be the greatest singer this world has ever heard.

My grandparents live in Maine, and every year when I go visit them, I pass by the same pond Whitney skated on while filming for The Preacher’s Wife. It was a family tradition to play some of her songs in the car on the ride up. It was during that time I instantly fell in love with her incredible voice.

Bobbi, you are the beautiful child of two music legends, with that, comes pressure. People are already starting to compare you to your mother, but that shouldn’t be a burden to you.

Everything you do from now on, will only add to the amazing legacy your mother has already laid down.

From your beautiful voice you share with your parents, to your smile that you got from your mother!

You were the light to Whitney’s life and we always had the feeling you were your mother’s very own superhero.

It’s impossible for any fan or friend to understand your loss, but I want you to know we’re all here rooting for you!

You don’t have to be a Bobby Brown or Whitney Houston to prove anything to anybody. Just be yourself.

You can be your own Bobbi Kristina, the torch has been passed down to you to do as you see fit! It’s time to show the world who you are and what you are made of!

I truly wish the best for you Bobbi, and I know you can will overcome this horrible tragedy. You really are an inspiration to me…just like your mother. I look forward to you being Bobbi Brown.

Sincerely,

Lindsey.

In terms of Bobby Brown not being allowed to attend the funeral of his ex-wife, do you think this is right or should he still be allowed to say his last goodbyes, despite the negative history between the two?
